Resumo: This article proposes to take an initial look at the textbooks approved in the National Book and Teaching Material Program (PNLD) 2021, referring to Object 2 - Areas of Knowledge, in which History would be included in the area of Human and Applied Social Sciences, seeking, from a comparative look, to probe the presence of the theme of World War II (1939-1945) and the use of photographs of the conflict in such works, intended for students and teachers of high school in public schools in Brazil.
