This master's dissertation is based on a study of the relations established in frontier areas, highlighting Bonfim-RR, in a context of lived space. Therefore, the general objective is to evaluate the perception of the residents of the urban perimeter of the municipality of Bonfim-RR in relation to the frontier area between Brazil and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. As specific objectives characterize perception and frontier in the geopolitical context of the city, identify the relationships established between residents on both sides of the border, point out the positive and negative elements in the relationship established with the other border and analyze the relationship of the population with the river Tacutu, as element of the landscape and landmark of the border. From this perspective we aim to understand the relationships established in frontier areas. It is hoped that this research will contribute to the understanding of the dynamics of space and its relations in a frontier area, thus increasing scientific research in the different lines, especially in the constitution of geographical science.
