The present research has the objective of dealing with questions related to the senses about "humanized labor", "biomedical labor" and "obstetric violence". In order to achieve this goal, a research was developed dedicated to the talk about the genealogy of terms and practices, aiming to seize consensuses and associations about the themes in the city of Rio de Janeiro.In order to refine our research and data, an ethnographic survey was conducted during a public hearing at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro entitled "Humanized Childbirth and Right of Choice" and at the David Capistrano Filho Childbirth Center. The methodology adopted was aimed at observing and analyzing how the different knowledge and practices of the field of medicine and nursing in relation to "humanized childbirth" are triggered and organized. in addition,we tried to understand how conflicts and impasses occur in a "humanized" environment.During the ethnographic process, we also seek to observe how the different views on understand the "biomedical childbirth" and "humanized labor" become concrete in public and political spaces.As a final step of this process, 13 semi-structured interviews were conducted with some of the users of Casa de Parto and some agents in biomedical areas, aiming to capture their perceptions about the themes os this research.It was possible to notice the multiple facets of the term "humanized childbirth" and the disputes between the actors involved in the management of the female body and its reproduction.
