Resumo: In this study five species of the Triatoma genera of different potentialities in Chagas disease transmission had been studied. Two species are from Northeast Region: Triatoma petrochiae and Triatoma brasiliensis, e the three ones from South Region: Triatoma rubrovaria, Triatoma carcavalloi and Triatoma circummaculata. T. brasiliensis is the most important vector of T. cruzi in the semiarid areas of Northeast Region of Brazil and T. rubrovaria in the rural areas of Rio Grande do Sul State, followed by Triatoma circummaculata. Comparisons between T. petrochiae and T. brasiliensis was made by morphometry and scanning electron microscopy significant differences. Morpho-structural differences in the cephalic region of the adults such as antennas, eyes, rostrum, buccula and stridulatory sulcus had also been illustrated. This analysis corroborate with specific previous studies confirming the specific taxa. The length, width and diameter of body and operculum of eggs of T. rubrovaria, T. carcavalloi and T. circummaculata considered wild species and that live in simpatry had been analyzed. Significant differences in the measures of eggs in the three species had been revealed. In the morphological analysis of the antennas of T. carcavalloi it was verified the occurence in both, male and females, more then 14 trichobotrium, in the thrird and fourth antennal articles. In the head the presence of 1+1 postocelares spots. In the legs, a pair of sub-apical dentices in femures of both male and female was found. Spongy fossette had been found only in the males, in the tibias of the previous and medium legs. The results related to the morphological studies carried out in T. carcavalloi, make evidenced that some structures are important for the specific characterization, such as buccula, rostrum and stridulatory sulcus. The alotype of Triatoma carcavalloi was described for one better identification of this species, as well as a boarding more detailed and knowledge of the specific anatomical characters. For the biological parameter of the eggs incubation period, the data gotten in T. carcavalloi show that the average period of incubation was of 22,7 days. The results show in the jejum resistence to all (male and female) nymphs and adult periods of this species indicate that the nymphs of 2?, 3?, 4? and 5? stages had greater resistance compared to the adults, while the males had shown similar behavior to the nymphs of first and second stages, being less resistant in relation to the females. For the first day of feeding to nymphs of first stage of T. carcavalloi the eclosion had a average of 3,13 days after, with at least of one day and in the maximum of five days. The period of intermuda between the nymphs of T. carcavalloi is presented in this study as being the number of days occurred between ecdises for each nymphal period (N1 the N5), of the first day of the eclosion of the egg until the imaginal ecdisis. The minor average of days was between N1-N2 with 18,52 and the major average was between N5-Adult with 191,26. Also it was observed that the nymphs of fifth stage (N5) need some sanguineous feeding to realize ecdise, that occurs more than with one year.

Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-26T18:59:57Z (GMT).
