Resumo: Ten compounds were isolated from the Et0H extract of the trunk wood of Swartzia laevicaq,a (Leguminosae-Caesalpinioideae), collected in the Amazonas basin. Two steroids: sitosterol + stigcasterol (S1B-3M); one dihydroisocoumarin: 8-hydrxy-3,5-dirnethyl-3,4-dihydroisocoumarin (S1B-5M); two isocoumarins: 5-chloro-8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-3-methylisocoumarin (S1B-1M) and 7-chloro-8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-3-methylisocoumarin (S1B-4M); one chromone: 5-hydroxy-7,8-dimethoxy-2-methylchromone (S1B,9M); four pterocarpanoids: (6aS,11aS)-2,8-dihydroxy-3,9,10-trimethoxypterocarpan (S1B-2M), (6aS,11aS)-2,8-dihydroxy-3,9-dimethoxypterocarpan (S1B-6M), (6aS,11aS)-8-hydroxy-3,4,9,10-tetramethoxypterocarpan (S1B-7M) and (6aS,11aS)-2,6-dihydroxy-3,4,9,10-tetramethoxypterocarpan (S1B-8M). Seven of these compounds are new (S1B-1M, S1B-2M, S1B-4M, S1B-6M, S1B-7M, S1B-8M and S1B-9M). The others were isolated previously from others plants. The structures?were elucidated on the basis of spectral data and chemical transformations.

Destas 10 subst?ncias, 7 s?o descritas pela primeira vez (S1B-1M, S1B-2M, S1B-4M, S1B-6M, S1B-7M, S1B-8M e S1B-9M). As outras tr?s subst?ncias restantes foram previamente isoladas de outras plantas.
