Resumo: The research here developed presents a narrative about Paraty that put in doubt its Historical Center wrapped as material and immaterial patrimony, objecting relate the local History with the development of a methodology wich approximates the student to the historical knowledge in school. The wellspring are speechs and memorialists documents, revealing the narrative of Paraty as an establishing place for the nation, here the approach is a contraposition starting from the perspective of popular culture prizing the plurality of narratives in public space and considering the student as an important part in the construction process of school knowledge. In a first moment, an analysis is made about productions wich approach theoretical and methodological perspectives that were useful for this research. Afterwards, a chapter is dedicated for description and analysis of narratives in Paraty?s public space, as the representations of religious celebrations in the Historical Center, for an example. The third and last chapter describes the teacher-student relationship starting from local History narratives, in Paraty, focusing in Col?gio Estadual Engenheiro M?rio Moura Brasil - CEMBRA, the biggest school of this zone. Therefore, this text intends to contribute with teachers actions and maybe in a bigger acceptance from the students of History?s education.

Tomando como fonte discursos e documentos memorialistas que revelam a narrativa de uma Paraty como lugar de funda??o da na??o, aqui abordaremos uma contraposi??o a partir da perspectiva da cultura popular valorizando a pluralidade de narrativas no espa?o p?blico e considerando o estudante como importante parte do processo de constru??o do conhecimento escolar. Em um primeiro momento, ? feita uma an?lise acerca de trabalhos que abordam perspectivas te?ricas e metodol?gicas que foram apropriadas para esta pesquisa. Em seguida, ? dedicado um cap?tulo para descri??o e an?lise acerca das narrativas no espa?o p?blico de Paraty, como as representa??es de festas religiosas no Centro Hist?rico. No terceiro e ?ltimo cap?tulo ser? descrita a rela??o professor-estudante a partir dos usos de narrativas da Hist?ria local, em Paraty, com foco no Col?gio Estadual Engenheiro M?rio Moura Brasil ? CEMBRA, maior escola desta regi?o.
