READING IN THE CONSTITUTION OF AJEB’S WRITERS AND JOURNALISTS

Resumo: This article is the result of a research that sought to answer the question: what is the importance of literary reading for the written production of the female writers and journalists of AJEB? The objective of the study was to verify if literary reading played a relevant role for the members of the Associação de Jornalistas e Escritoras do Brasil (Association of Journalists and Writers of Brazil) to constitute themselves as writers. With a quali-quantitative approach and exploratory character, the proposal is defined as a case study and had as an instrument of data collection an online questionnaire answered by 93 associates. The reflections of the article resulted from dialogues established with authors such as Candido (2004), Petit (2009) and Compagnon (2009). The results of the analyzed data revealed that for the female authors literary reading contributed to their formation as journalists and writers. For most of the interviewees, to be a good writer it is necessary, first of all, to be a good reader, which, in turn, is not possible without a significant literary repertoire.

O objetivo do estudo foi verificar se a leitura literária ocupou um papel relevante para que as associadas da Associação de Jornalistas e Escritoras do Brasil se constituíssem como escritoras. De abordagem quali-quantitativa e caráter exploratório, a proposta define-se como um estudo de caso e teve como instrumento de coleta de dados um questionário on-line respondido por 93 associadas. As reflexões do artigo resultaram dos diálogos estabelecidos com autores como Candido (2004), Petit (2009) e Compagnon (2009). Os resultados dos dados analisados revelaram que para as ajebianas a leitura literária contribuiu para a formação delas como jornalistas e escritoras.
