Policiais militares do estado de Sergipe: afastamentos por motivo de doença entre os anos de 2014-17

OBJECTIVES: To outline the profile and / or adequacy of the health / disease service of the Sergipe state military police between 2014-2017. METHODS: The military records were accessed at the Secretary of the Medical Expertise Service of the PMSE of all active military police officers and checked the skills performed during the period from 2014 to 2017. The descriptive analysis was performed through the variables incapacitating pathology / defined by ICD 10; days away from activities; days of restriction of the work activities (being considered a restriction a measure of adequacy of the service that the military can perform). RESULTS: Diseases of the lumbar spine, diseases psychiatric and injuries were the main causes of withdrawal and adaptation of the service. In the period evaluated, 21,363 licenses were awarded for health treatment or adaptation of the service with average duration of approximately 12 days in the simple skill, 53 days of temporary incapacity and 91 days of adaptation to the service. The severity rate / year was 15.17 for disability, and 21.57 for the adaptations in the Regular Medical Board. CONCLUSION: The present study demonstrated diseases of the lumbar spine and mental disorders were the main causes of absenteeism in the Sergipe state military police force. These findings should support internal health promotion policies and prevention of these diseases in order to reduce the number of departures
