Conhecimentos de estudantes do internato de Medicina sobre Sepse

Sepsis is a potentially fatal complication of an infection (considered one of the most commonly found fatal diseases in the world), reaching victim of 20 to 30 million of people. Moreover, it is a disease little known to health professionals and lay people. Thus, this work, in qualitative and quantitative research, aims to analyze the knowledge of students of the medical boarding School of the Federal University of Sergipe, the Campus Prof. Antônio Garcia Filho (lizard/If), in the year 2018, on sepsis, taking as reference the data collection and an instrumental elaborated by the authors articulated with a bibliographical study. The participation of 86 students who, according to the study, demonstrated to have moderate/high knowledge about the thematic (82.56%) and that the undergraduate course provided the theme in some module (90%). On the consensus of sepsis – 3, according to the third international consensus of definitions of sepsis, published by ILAS (Latin American Institute of Sepsis), only 51% of the participants responded to having heard. 45% of the participants were able to recognize when a patient meets SIRS and 29% recognized the patient with sepsis.
