Resumo: Introduction: With the alert of the World Health Organization (WHO), the end of 2019 was marked by the contingent of COVID-19. During this period, the advancement of science was evident in dedicating time to research in the production of the vaccine, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of sequelae due to the spread of the virus that caused a public health emergency at an international level. With the advent of increasingly modern and effective vaccines, public health concerns have turned to the sequelae of COVID-19. In this sense, the current moment is marked by the management of the person with sequelae due to COVID-19 and the search for registered research in evidence that can help the post-health professional understand the context in which we are inserted. Therefore, we study the negative consequences that the sequel can cause in the narrative discourse of the human being. Objective: To analyze the narrative discourse of survivors of the severe form of COVID-19. Materials and methods: This is an observational and cross-sectional study. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE 61448422.7.0000.0217). Data was collected in laboratory 6 of the Graduate Program in Applied Health Sciences (PPGCAS). The procedures performed involved the Rapid Antigen Test for COVID-19, anamnesis, audiological evaluation with Meatoscopy, and Tonal Threshold Audiometry (TTA), to investigate the participants' auditory conditions. In addition, the performance of the MiniMental State Examination (MMSE-2), evaluation of the oral narrative discourse through the Montreal Toulouse Battery of Language Assessment Collection - MTL/Brazil, so that, could experience the ability to produce a narrative from macrolinguistic and microlinguistic elements of a bank robbery figure. Finally, the evaluation of the narrative discourse evaluation is based on the total number of words, information units, and the total number of scenes. Results: 29 people participated in the study, eight (27.6%) women and 21 (72.4%) men, aged between 30 and 74 years. Eleven people (37.9%) presented results suggestive of a deficit or alert for the deficit in the total number of words, 13 (44.8%) in Total UI, and 10 (34.5%) in whole scenes. Conclusion: Deficits in narrative discourse were observed in individuals who had a severe presentation of COVID-19. However, more research is needed with a larger number of participants and with other study studies for a broader discussion.
