Resumo: Syagrus coronata is a native species of the semi-arid region in northeastern Brazil that has great importance for the local socioeconomy development. There are a wide variety of products that can be extracted from this palm tree, such as handicrafts, sweets, medicines and cosmetics. Lately, a lot of research has demonstrated the potential of licuri for the manufacture of hair creams and body oils. However, despite the potential results regarding the development of cosmetic products, the number of patent deposits within this topic is relatively low. In this context, in order to obtain information that will provide the basis for stimulating new research on the cosmetic application of licuri, the objective of this work was to evaluate the technological scenario of this fruit using the INPI database.
