O bullying nas aulas de Educação Física escolar: corpo, obesidade e estigma

Resumo: In the beginning of this century the stigmas that emerge from the body appearance seem to be increasingly mediated by power relationships as they acquire symbolic value within a given context. These power relationships are manifested in many different ways, unleashing physical and symbolic violence situations when in contact with differences – meaning, bullying. In this sense, this article aims to analyze how bullying manifests in the students’ lives in the context of the Physical Education classes in school. This text is a result of a monographic study of the Physical Education undergraduate course of the Federal University of Sergipe done from a qualitative study that analyzed the object of this research under the bias of a case study in a public school in the city of Aracaju – Sergipe. The results indicated that, to combat the violence manifested through bullying in the Physical Education classes and in the school context, a combined connivance interaction between students, staff, parents, teachers and principals mediated by an awareness that fosters the acceptance and respect in contact with the difference is necessary.

Estas relações de poder se manifestam das mais diferentes formas desencadeando em situações de violência física e simbólica no convívio com o diferente – o bullying. Neste sentido, o presente artigo pretende analisar como se manifesta o processo de bullying na vida dos alunos considerados obesos por seus agressores dentro do contexto da Educação Física escolar. O texto é fruto de um estudo monográfico do curso de Educação Física da UFS realizado a partir de uma pesquisa qualitativa que analisou o objeto sob o viés de um estudo de caso de uma Escola Publica Municipal de Aracaju/SE.
