O bullying nas aulas de Educação Física escolar: corpo, obesidade e estigma

In the beginning of this century the stigmas that emerge from the body appearance seem to be increasingly mediated by power relationships as they acquire symbolic value within a given context. These power relationships are manifested in many different ways, unleashing physical and symbolic violence situations when in contact with differences – meaning, bullying. In this sense, this article aims to analyze how bullying manifests in the students’ lives in the context of the Physical Education classes in school. This text is a result of a monographic study of the Physical Education undergraduate course of the Federal University of Sergipe done from a qualitative study that analyzed the object of this research under the bias of a case study in a public school in the city of Aracaju – Sergipe. The results indicated that, to combat the violence manifested through bullying in the Physical Education classes and in the school context, a combined connivance interaction between students, staff, parents, teachers and principals mediated by an awareness that fosters the acceptance and respect in contact with the difference is necessary.
