Introduction: The puerperium can make women vulnerable to mental disorders. The nurse assumes a relevant care role during this period. It is understood that there are studies about the nursing diagnoses associated with mental health problems occurring in the puerperium. Aim: to identify the nursing diagnoses associated with puerperal blue and postpartum depression in the mental health care of puerperal women. Methods: An integrative review study, which followed the five-step methodological path described by Whittemore and Knafl (2005). Result: The search resulted in 465 articles, three of which were included in this review. The main nursing diagnoses found were: ineffective eating, anxiety, fatigue, self-concept disorders, impaired parenting, tension in the caregiver role, sleep pattern disorder, lack of leisure activities, ineffective coping, poor knowledge, dysfunctional family processes. Conclusion: The main domains or classes of diagnoses were related to activity/rest, self-perception, roles and relationships, and stress coping/tolerance. The results suggest the need for further studies that address nursing diagnoses and support interventions for adequate mental health care for women during the puerperal period.
