Resumo: This work aimed to investigate the microhardness of Bulk fill composite resin built in two different thicknesses (4 and 6mm) and light cured in different light intensities. Eighteen third molars, sectioned into two parts, were divided into two groups (N=18). 4 and 6mm deep cavities were prepared and restored with a single resin increment. The samples were subdivided into three other groups, according to the light intensity in which they were photoactivated (low, medium and high). The chosen methodological analysis was Vickers microhardness and the data were statistically analyzed using the Shapiro Willk normality test, Levene test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Tukey HSD test and t test for independent variables. The results of this study showed that there was a decrease in microhardness values as a function of depth. The analysis of the intensity modes revealed that there was no statistically significant difference when comparing, individually, each of the thicknesses and when contrasting them with each other. For this second variable, the values of greater hardness were the increments of 6mm, medium and high intensities powers, 67.17 HV and 66.04 HV, respectively. However, there was no statistically significant difference between the cervical thirds of the samples, regardless of the depth and photoactivation modes used. In addition, only two intensity modes presented a base/top ratio greater than 80%; low and medium power, for the thickness of 4mm, with 100% and 89%, respectively. Therefore, different photoactivation intensities did not influence the conversion rate of polymer chains and the base/top ratio of the material.

Therefore, different photoactivation intensities did not influence the conversion rate of polymer chains and the base/top ratio of the material.
