This dissertation makes an analysis of murder crimes committed in the city of Aracaju/SE in 2012. According to the Violence Atlas of 2018, the city of Aracaju/SE (2012 – 2016) has become one of the principal capitals with the higher rates of murders per 100 thousand inhabitants. This scenario was one of the motivations that led this research. The goal of the research was to characterize the murders in Aracaju/SE. To be able to realize this work we separate two thematic lines that helped to give us a greater comprehension of murders in the city: the profile of the involved and the police investigation of the murders. The data for such analysis were taken of police inquiry made available by the Department of Homicide and Person Protection (DHPP). Through these two lines we have conclude that exists a social and economic proximity between the victims and the offenders, them even being actually friends at young age. While, the police murders investigation has lots of gaps at the construction of the investigation itself, for the lack of basic procedures to indict the offender (technical proofs, testimonial collection). This work has been moved by the search of a scientific understanding about this kind of violent criminality - murders - which is a phenomenal of great complexity of explanation of its causes, involved and dynamics.
