IDHM como norteador de estratégias para o incremento da qualidade de vida da população : um estudo sobre o município de Barra dos Coqueiros/SE

The issue related to the Municipal Human Development Index (HDI) is a measure made up of indicators of three dimensions of human development: longevity, education and income. The index ranges from 0 to 1. The closer to 1, the greater the human development. The Brazilian IDHM considers the same three dimensions of global HDI longevity, education and income, but goes beyond: adapting the global methodology to the Brazilian context and the availability of national indicators. Although they measure the same phenomena, the indicators taken into account in the IDHM are more adequate to evaluate the development of Brazilian municipalities and metropolitan regions. The Atlas of Human Development in Brazil also provides, in addition to these indexes, more than 200 socioeconomic indicators, which allow better qualification and broader analysis of human development in the municipalities and metropolitan regions of the country. In this research will be presented literature with their respective applicability on the subject, showing as central objective the analysis of the data of the IDHM of Barra dos Coqueiros, to verify how the municipality is evolving in relation to the quality of life of the population. The research strategy is classified as documentary through information collected through the IBGE, ATLAS, data collected on the website of the municipality and the interview granted by financial analyst Luiz Paulo Bresciani. In addition, the study has exploratory purposes of a qualitative nature and was consolidated through qualitative or generic analysis guidelines. With the factors inherent to the quality of life that composes the data of 1991, 2000 and 2010, these are represented by changes in management, political problems and social development. At the last moment, the study proposes to analyze the development indices of the municipality in question. Thus, the present study pointed out some possible strategies that can be taken as measures to improve the quality of life of the population of Barra dos Coqueiros to reach the expected level.
