This study examines the relationship between the technoscientific innovations in the field of nanotechnologies that allow us to manipulate the fundamental constituents of the human body and the process of commodification of human life, ie the commercial availability of the constituents of human body. This thesis has been developed by using texts available on the internet. Articles, newspaper articles and reports relating to the definition and history of nanotechnology and its applications in medical areas were analyzed. As this paper deals with two objects in different fields of study, nanotechnologies and commodification, its theoretical basis is necessarily extended to account for the topic. The study found a strong interdependence between technoscience and society, particularly among technosciences, capital and the state. This interdependence is what connects the concept of technical availability, ie the possibility of having technically increasingly larger portions of the world with the advent of innovations as brought by nanotechnology, to the concept of commodification of human life. Innovations are produced with the objective of being commodified and investors perceive innovations as the main source of new goods. Appointed as irreversible by its advocates, the process of commodification is limited both by state regulations that respond to demands from civil society and by the rejection of consumers, spontaneous or organized in the form of boycotts. These limitations can cripple production and/or distribution of merchandise developed from these technological innovations.
