Sintomas depressivos em profissionais do serviço de atendimento móvel de urgência (SAMU) de Sergipe

Objectives: To evaluate and identify symptoms of depression in health professionals of the Sergipe Emergency Mobile Service (SAMU), as well as to relate the prevalence of symptomatology to sex and schooling, as well as to identify knowledge related to the topic. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study carried out at SAMU's bases in Aracaju-SE, from August to September 2017. The research involved 90 volunteers who participate in SAMU's active staff. There are groups of four groups: physicians, nurses, nursing technicians, and ambulance drivers, we sought to point out signs (signs and symptoms) by means of a specific questionnaire called the Beck-BDI Depression Scale. Results: There was a significant number of professionals with symptoms suggestive of depression in the study population, a prevalence of 14.5% of the 90 professionals. In the sample of the nursing professionals of middle and higher level of 19.3%, among the doctors were 0%, and among the drivers 11.12%. Conclusion: It was possible to identify the depressive symptoms, in the professionals studied, in addition, to present significant rates in the female population and to do high school. Regarding the knowledge of the professionals on the subject, it is concluded as insufficient.
