Resumo: Brazil, in recent years, has made great strides in terms of creating a more financially conscious population. It is possible to observe these advances through implemented strategies, such as the creation of the NSFE (National Strategy for Financial Education), which creates ways to improve the country's level of financial education and the practices of the MEC, in relation to the imposition of teaching financial education in schools, making institutions meet the new guidelines of the National Common Curricular Base (NCCB) (FEBRABAN, 2019). Although it has taken great strides, this process is slow and still requires investments and the implementation of different strategies so that adequate levels of financial education are reached. According to Lucci et al (2006), the importance of financial education in people's lives is reflected in the greater organization of their financial resources, avoiding high levels of default on the part of the population, as well as problems with personal well-being and well-being in society. In this way, the present work was conceived in order to understand what are the impacts of financial education on people's level of indebtedness. For this, a questionnaire was applied and, therefore, an analysis of the responses of 48 higher-level servers of the Doctor Milton Dortas Center of Excellence, located in the city of Simão Dias/SE. Using Spearman's correlation parameters, it was possible to observe the strength of the influence of financial education on the level of indebtedness. Thus, the research concluded that individuals with a higher level of financial education and with more positive attitudes towards financial resources are those with the lowest levels of indebtedness. In this way, it was possible to prove the direct relationship between the variables financial education and level of indebtedness.

É possível observar esses avanços por meio de estratégias implementadas, tais como a criação da ENEF (Estratégia Nacional de Educação Financeira), que cria formas de melhorar o nível de educação financeira do país e as práticas do MEC, em relação à imposição do ensino de educação financeira nas escolas, fazendo com que as instituições atendam às novas diretrizes da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) (FEBRABAN, 2019). Embora tenha dado grandes passos, esse processo é lento e ainda necessita de investimentos e da implementação de diversas estratégias para que os níveis adequados de educação financeira sejam alcançados. Segundo Lucci et al (2006) a importância da educação financeira na vida das pessoas é traduzida na maior organização dos seus recursos financeiros, evitando níveis de inadimplência altos por parte da população, bem como problemas com bem-estar pessoal e bem-estar na sociedade. Dessa maneira, o presente trabalho foi idealizado com o intuito de entender quais são os impactos da educação financeira no nível de endividamento das pessoas. Para tal, foi realizada uma aplicação de questionário e, por conseguinte, uma análise das respostas de 48 servidores de nível superior do Centro de Excelência Doutor Milton Dortas, localizado na cidade de Simão Dias/SE. Utilizando parâmetros de correlação de Spearman, foi possível observar a força da influência da educação financeira sobre o nível de endividamento. Sendo assim, a pesquisa concluiu que os indivíduos com maior nível de educação financeira e com atitudes mais positivas perante os recursos financeiros são aqueles com os menores níveis de endividamento.
