Resumo: | Objective: To identify the main factors for the interruption of nasoenteral nutritional therapy in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Itabaiana-SE. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, observational and descriptive study. Patients under exclusive enteral nutritional therapy from the Intensive Care Unit are included. The patients participated in this study after signing an Informed Consent Form. The research was sent to the Research Ethics Committee. Results: 26 patients were analyzed and, from them, 69% are male, from 27 to 87 years old. Average length of stay in the Intensive Care Unit was of 23.64 days, while average time for enteral nutritional therapy was 19.5 days. Main factors found for enteral nutritional diet to be interrupted were: physical therapy, baths, diet change, medication, hydric ingestion, procedures, problems with the nasoenteral probe and complications in gastrointestinal tract. Conclusion: Different factors cause interruption of nasoenteral nutritional therapy, possibly influencing the amount administered and resulting in severe consequences to the patient’s health. The main reasons found in this study are: physical therapy, baths, diet change, medication, hydric ingest, procedures, problems with the nasoenteral probe and complications in the gastrointestinal tract. With this, it is essential to give special attention to the caloric needs during the administering of the diet, verifying gains and losses in order to perform a nutritional reformulation whenever necessary. |

Métodos: Estudo transversal, observacional e descritivo. Foram incluídos os pacientes em terapia nutricional enteral exclusiva internados na unidade de terapia intensiva. O paciente participou do estudo após assinatura do termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa. Resultados: Foram estudados 26 pacientes, desses, 69% eram do gênero masculino, com idade entre 27 e 87 anos. O tempo de permanência na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva foi em média 23,64 dias e a permanência com a dieta terapia nutricional enteral foi de 19,5 dias. Os principais fatores de interrupção da dieta encontrados foram: fisioterapia, banho, troca da dieta, medicação, ingesta hídrica, procedimentos, problemas com a SNE e complicações gastrointestinais. Conclusão: Diversos fatores provocam a interrupção da dieta nutricional enteral, podendo influenciar na quantidade administrada e resultar em consequências graves à saúde do paciente. Os principais aqui encontrados foram: fisioterapia, banho, troca da dieta, medicação, ingesta hídrica, procedimentos, problemas com a SNE e complicações gastrointestinais.
