Resumo: Food labeling is an information tool, if it is not in accordance with the rules set out in legislation it can influence food choices in the wrong way. The growth of the consumption of functional foods, and their benefits to the quality of life, makes it necessary to study the information stated on the labels of these foods. The present study deals with a cross-sectional analysis, with the objective of analyzing the information contained in the labels of functional foods, comparing them with the current legislation. It was found a strong presence of items with nonconformities among the products analyzed. The irregularities found are worrisome because they are information that can lead the consumer to a wrong purchase or consumption of foodstuffs.

O crescimento do consumo de alimentos funcionais, e seus benefícios para a qualidade de vida faz com que haja a necessidade de estudos quanto às informações declaradas nos rótulos desses alimentos. O presente estudo trata de uma análise transversal, tendo como objetivo analisar as informações contidas nos rótulos de alimentos funcionais, confrontando-as com as legislações vigentes. Constatou-se forte presença de itens com inconformidades dentre os produtos analisados.
