Empreendedorismo : estudo bibliométrico a partir das publicações científicas em portal de periódicos

The present paper work presents the interrelationship between bibliometry and the evaluation of scientific journals using the SCOPUS database. Thus, the theme of this study is based, above all, on the relevance that entrepreneurship has assumed for the formation of Executive Secretariat, which can be seen, mainly, through the Curricular Guidelines of the Ministry of Education(MEC) and the tests of the National Student Performance Examination (ENADE) the areas worked by the course and, in a broader sense, the world economy, this implies to say that such phenomenon has gained notorious scientific representativeness. By this bias, were identified 27,602 articles in the period of 17 years on the subject in question which stand out the key words, namely: ‘empreendedorismo’ in Portuguese language and entrepreneurship in the English language. Thus, according to the observed data, it is pointed out that the use of bibliometric techniques has been a recurring practice in the researches in Applied Social Sciences, since its application helps in the understanding of new themes, that is, one can identify current and future trends in the field of Science. In this sense, this paper presents the conceptualization of Bibliometrics, as well as the main areas of application in the light of bibliometric studies, but can also be related to: i) Lotka's Law; (ii) Bradford`s Law; iii) Zipf's Law. This research aims to identify the nature of the publications on entrepreneurship from a bibliometric study anchored in the SCOPUS database, in the period from 2000 to 2017. According to the results obtained, it is concluded that bibliometric methods are appropriate and necessary to manage the quality of bibliographic databases which record the scientific productions.
