Estilo de liderança x desempenho dos colaboradores : uma análise no Hospital de Olhos de Sergipe

Resumo: The literature on leadership emphasizes the need to investigate influential variables in the leadership style present in organizational leaders. This study was carried out at Hospital de Olhos de Sergipe, a private health care company whose main focus is to promote ophthalmological health with excellence. With the main objective of identifying if there is influence of the styles of leadership on the performance of the collaborators. The main theories about leadership, its concepts and styles, the main traditional and contemporary performance evaluations, with advantages and disadvantages of the 360º performance evaluation were presented in the theoretical framework. In carrying out the research, descriptive analysis based on secondary data was conducted. For the data collection, two instruments were used: the questionnaire for leadership style analysis, based on the Management Style Assessment Scale (EAEG), validated by Melo (2004), applied only to the ones led and the 360º performance evaluation questionnaire, applied to the leaders, peers and leaders. These questionnaires were developed and applied by the company's human resources sector and made available to the participating public to respond according to their own opinion, carried out at different times, since the questionnaire was first applied to the leadership style and later applied the evaluation of performance with employees in general. The result about leadership style has shown that the predominant style is Task-oriented. However, there is also the presence of relationship and situational styles. And that in the company in question, leadership style may not influence the performance of the led. As a limitation, we can mention the accomplishment of the research only in a company, noting that there are factors present in the company that can directly influence the result determined. Finally, we can affirm that consequently the performance of employees can vary regardless of the present leadership style. In this sense, evaluating the influence of leadership style on the performance of employees and verifying if there is really intervention of the same in a particular team, is a challenge.

Este estudo foi realizado no Hospital de Olhos de Sergipe, uma empresa privada, do ramo de saúde, cujo principal foco é promover a saúde oftalmológica com excelência. Com o objetivo principal de identificar se há influência dos estilos de liderança sobre o desempenho dos colaboradores. Foi apresentado no referencial teórico as principais teorias sobre liderança, seus conceitos e estilos, as principais avaliações de desempenho tradicionais e contemporâneas, com vantagens e desvantagens da avaliação de desempenho 360º. Na realização da pesquisa foi conduzida a análise descritiva baseada em dados secundários. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizados dois instrumentos, o questionário para análise do estilo de liderança, baseado na Escala de Avaliação de Estilo Gerencial (EAEG), validada por Melo (2004), aplicado somente aos liderados e o questionário sobre avaliação de desempenho 360º, aplicado aos liderados, pares e líderes. Tais questionários foram desenvolvidos e aplicados pelo setor de recursos humanos da empresa e disponibilizado ao público participante para que respondessem de acordo com sua própria opinião, realizados em momentos distintos, vez que, primeiramente foi aplicado o questionário referente ao estilo de liderança e posteriormente, aplicada a avaliação de desempenho com os colaboradores em geral. O resultado sobre o estilo de liderança demonstrou que o estilo predominante é voltado para Tarefa. Porém, há também a presença dos estilos relacionamento e situacional. E que na empresa em questão, o estilo de liderança pode não influenciar no desempenho dos liderados. Como limitação, podemos citar a realização da pesquisa somente em uma empresa, ressaltando que há fatores presente na empresa que podem influenciar diretamente no resultado apurado. Por fim, podemos afirmar que consequentemente o desempenho dos colaboradores pode variar independente do estilo de liderança presente.
