Resumo: From the earliest days of colonization of Brazil, the exploitation of the Atlantic Forest has been exercised in a predatory way in the social, economic and ecological points of view. Due to the unsustainable management practices, this biome is very fragmented. Given these problems, this research aimed to perform the Diagnostic and Geoenvironmental Zoning of the Conservation Unit Refúgio de Vida Silvestre Mata Junco (Capela - SE), the second largest remnant of Atlantic Forest of the state. From the proposition of biotic (species richness, epiphytes, lianas, litter and human action in the middle) and abiotic indicators (environment temperature, Relative Humidity, Atmospheric Pressure and Wind Speed) the stages of natural regeneration of the Forest Refuge were assessed. The study area was divided into two transects established in the dimension of 50 X 50 m, where the proposed biotic indicators were analyzed by collecting materials in loco, and with the aid of portable mini-weather station there was a cumulative climatology of the study area was verified. Soil samples were collected in two different areas in order to check the organic matter, granulometry, essential elements and texture / soil classification of the Conservation Unit as a whole, and in loco observations of the headwater of Lagartixo River, beyond data collection, in order to check the water quality of this main source area. Another procedure was the introduction of semistructured interviews with the community, which analyze the human action and socioeconomic aspects in this forest remnant as well as its local importance. In addition to the georeferencing of the area thus creating the image of Zoning Letter. In its floristic composition, this remnant has a prominent presence of pioneer species, large amounts of lianas, the presence of ferns, and dominance of epiphytic and litter. Regarding temperatures, there was a gradual decrease between January and July because of the rainy season, increasing again in the months thereafter and behaving inversely proportional to moisture. Wind speeds are low because of the crowns, and atmospheric pressure remains almost constant having an increase between the months of May through August. The Soil of the Unit behaves differently according to different strata of vegetation, and water quality from the source is considered excellent. We defined seven zones for RVSJMJ: Wild Zone, Protection Zone, Zone for Academic Visiting, Administration Zone, Transition Zone, Buffer Zone and Zone of Recovery. We can prove from the Diagnostic and Zoning that the Junco Forest is fragmented with composition of different strata, possessing good levels of natural regeneration in its different fragments, even with human intervention occurring at the site. Therefore, the early stages of succession are strongly influenced by abiotic factors, decreasing its intensity as succession advances. These indicators are very important for the classification of the zones, pointing to the ways of sustainable use and also helping to define the legal status of preservation of the area.
