Resumo: The procedures of intraoral adjustments are recommended after the cementation of the restorations in zirconia partially stabilized by yttria (YTZP - yttria stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal), however this procedure promotes roughness and porosity to the prosthetic part, thus favoring the biofilm adhesion, wear of the antagonist tooth and consequently the longevity of the restorative treatment. In order to analyze the efficiency of the various intraoral polishing methods and propose a suggestion of intraoral polishing protocol, a review of the literature was carried out using articles from PubMed, Scielo, MEDLINE and ScienceDirect between 2008 and 2018. Intraoral polishing is considered a relevant resource to maintain the integrity of the restoration, harmony between oral cavity structures and periodontal health. In this way, several intraoral polishing systems are effective in reducing roughness, but it is essential to follow the manufacturer's recommendations on their use.

Com o objetivo de analisar a eficiência dos diversos métodos de polimento intraoral e propor uma sugestão de protocolo de polimento intrabucal foi realizado uma revisão de literatura utilizando artigos das bases de dados PubMed, Scielo, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect entre 2008 e 2018. O polimento intrabucal é considerado um recurso relevante para manter a integridade da restauração, harmonia entre a estruturas da cavidade oral e saúde periodontal.
