Resumo: | The present dissertation is the result of an investigation that focused on the permanent education of social workers who work at federal and state universities in Bahia. The general objective was to analyze the conceptions that social workers who work at federal and state universities in Bahia elaborate about permanent education in contemporary times. The specific objectives were: to outline the general and training profile of social workers who work at federal and state universities in Bahia; investigate the existence of permanent education among social workers who work at federal and state universities in Bahia and the challenges to access them; to know the concepts of permanent education of social workers who work at federal and state universities in Bahia and what contributions it offers to professional work. The guiding hypothesis was that the impacts of the various societal transformations, based on a dominant capitalist logic, influence the permanent education of Social Work professionals, above all by the reconfiguration of the labor market, by the precariousness of objective work conditions, by the scrapping of institutions over the years and the new requirements and requirements that have become reality. Methodologically, a qualitative research of data collection and analysis was set up, guided by the perspective of materialism-historical-dialectic. The empirical part of the study was carried out by applying an online questionnaire, with open and closed questions electronically - email - from the Google Forms platform. The analyzes and interpretations of the data were carried out from some central categories defined by the object's own delimitation. The main results of the research revealed: 1) the theme of permanent education was addressed throughout the training of the subjects; 2) the capital strategies that directed the productive restructuring result in profound changes in professional work; 3) the concept of permanent education based on the research subjects is mostly limited, being associated only with institutional demands and work processes, disregarding or ignoring its broad and critical concept, which seeks permanent education aimed at strengthening and political construction of training, of work, that breaks with pragmatism, immediacy, technicality. In short, it was seen that it is necessary to recover the political dimension of permanent education, in search of training that is not limited to specific, institutional and seasonal requests. Permanent education can provide professionals with a critical reading of reality, based on the critical professional project that the category has been building over the years and that is not limited to the search for progression and certification. It is strategic to introduce the concept of permanent education in the training process as a professional achievement, reinforcing the need for a collective struggle for working conditions that provides the qualification of services provided to users. |

O objetivo geral consistiu em analisar as concepções que as/os assistentes sociais que trabalham nas universidades federais e estaduais na Bahia elaboram acerca da educação permanente na contemporaneidade. Os objetivos específicos foram: traçar o perfil geral e de formação das/os assistentes sociais que trabalham nas universidades federais e estaduais na Bahia; averiguar a existência de educação permanente entre as/os assistentes sociais que trabalham nas universidades federais e estaduais na Bahia e os desafios para acessá-las; conhecer as concepções de educação permanente das/os assistentes sociais que trabalham nas universidades federais e estaduais na Bahia e quais contribuições a mesma oferece ao trabalho profissional. A hipótese norteadora foi que os impactos das diversas transformações societárias, a partir de uma lógica dominante capitalista, influenciam na educação permanente dos profissionais de Serviço Social, sobretudo pela reconfiguração do mercado de trabalho, pela precarização das condições objetivas de trabalho, do sucateamento das instituições públicas ao longo dos anos e as novas exigências e requisições postas na realidade. Metodologicamente, configurou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa de coleta e análise de dados, orientada pela perspectiva do materialismo-histórico-dialético. A parte empírica do estudo foi realizada pela aplicação de questionário online, com questões abertas e fechadas por meio eletrônico – e-mail – a partir da plataforma Google Forms. As análises e interpretações dos dados foram realizadas a partir de algumas categorias centrais definidas pela própria delimitação do objeto. Os resultados principais da pesquisa revelaram: 1) a temática educação permanente foi abordada ao longo da formação dos sujeitos; 2) as estratégias do capital que direcionaram a reestruturação produtiva resultam em profundas mudanças no trabalho profissional; 3) o conceito de educação permanente a partir dos sujeitos da pesquisa é limitado em sua maioria, estando associado apenas às demandas institucionais e aos processos de trabalho, desconsiderando ou desconhecendo seu conceito amplo e crítico, que busca uma educação permanente voltada para o fortalecimento e construção política da formação, do trabalho, que rompa com o pragmatismo, imediatismo, tecnicismo. Em suma, viu-se que é necessário recuperar a dimensão política da educação permanente, em busca de uma formação que não se limite a requisições pontuais, institucionais e sazonais. A educação permanente pode proporcionar aos profissionais uma leitura crítica da realidade, baseada no projeto profissional crítico que a categoria vem construindo ao longo dos anos e que não se limite à busca por progressão e certificação.
