Resumo: This work deals with the traveler 's view of the Brazilian black woman. The goal was to bring the sources and voices from the past . From the reports made by these foreign travelers we base our research in describing his views on the slave or free black woman who was here . Were used for the research transcripts of 34 works of Brazilian Collection where we seek to build the image created by the traveler on women , since it was the starting of a Eurocentric view .

O objetivo foi trazer as fontes como vozes do passado. A partir dos relatos feitos por esses viajantes estrangeiros pautamos nossa pesquisa na descrição de suas visões sobre a mulher negra escrava ou livre que aqui se encontrava.
