Valorização da atenção primária no ensino médico na Universidade Federal de Sergipe

Resumo: | Introduction: Primary Health Care plays a central role in Brazilian Public Health System, in which it is responsible for population’s first contact with the service and coordination of healthcare flow. This way, the physicist who act in that care level must be able to answer his assisted population in his territory registered with a family-centered and communitarian approach. Therefore, medical school programs, after publication of the new National Curricular Guidelines, in 2014, are undergoing a pedagogical reformulation in order to graduate physicists who will work mainly in Primary Care. Methods: It is a quantitative, observational and cross-sectional study which has used a form elaborated by its researchers intending to compare the attitudes towards Primary Health Care in two campuses (São Cristovão and Lagarto) of Federal University of Sergipe, Brazil. Results and Discussion: When the students were asked about the importance of Primary Care teaching in graduation and the means by which those goals can be achieved, significant differences were only found in the item about longitudinal insertion in increasing spiral model. When asked about aspects of individual approach, the students of Lagarto Campus showed higher scores about the use of person-centered clinical method and expanded clinic instruments. It was also detected that the same campus showed significant differences in answers of all items related to familiar approach tools, such as the instruments used for diagnosis of family functioning and home visits. Furthermore, the study also revealed a bigger agreement in Lagarto’s students in four out of five items about communitarian approach. It was also found that there was significant difference, evidencing higher scores for Lagarto’s students in most questions about the new National Curricular Guidelines. Conclusion: The research showed that students of Lagarto campus of Federal University of Sergipe had higher scores in fourteen out of fifteen items analyzed, what can demonstrate a higher concordance of this campus with the Brazilian Curricular Guidelines for Medical School and for Teaching of Primary Health Care in college. |

Sendo assim, o médico que atuar nesse nível de atenção deve estar apto a realizar atendimentos da população assistida em seu território adscrito, com enfoque familiar e comunitário. Portanto, os programas de graduação em Medicina, após a publicação das últimas diretrizes curriculares, em 2014, encontram-se em reformulação pedagógica para formar médicos egressos atuantes preferencialmente na Atenção Básica. Métodos: Estudo quantitativo, observacional, de aplicação transversal que se utilizou de um instrumento criado pelos pesquisadores com o objetivo de comparar a valorização da Atenção Primária na graduação em Medicina em dois campi (São Cristóvão e Lagarto) na Universidade Federal de Sergipe. Resultados e discussões: Ao serem questionados sobre a importância do ensino da Atenção Primária na graduação e os meios pelos quais podem ser alcançados esses objetivos, apenas observou-se diferença significativa entre os Campi Lagarto e São Cristóvão no item que versa sobre a inserção longitudinal em modelo de espiral crescente. Quando questionados sobre aspectos da abordagem individual, os alunos da UFS Lagarto mostraram maiores valores de escala em relação ao uso de ferramentas do Método Clínico Centrado na Pessoa e Clínica Ampliada. Foi visto também que o mesmo campus apresentou diferença significativa nas respostas em todos os itens que tratavam de ferramentas da abordagem familiar, como as utilizadas para o diagnóstico familiar e realização de visitas domiciliares. Ademais, a pesquisa também revelou maior concordância no Campus da UFS Lagarto em quatro dos cinco itens que tratavam da abordagem comunitária. Foi visto também que houve diferença significativa, mostrando maiores valores de escala para os alunos da UFS Lagarto na maioria das assertivas que tratavam das novas diretrizes curriculares.
