Bibliographic data reveal that there is a high prevalence of alcohol consumption among medical students. Future health professionals, especially medical students, will be important products in the provision and guarantee of health care for an entire population. Their training and performance are essential for a satisfactory health follow-up for everyone. In this way, it is justifiable to pay special attention to the social aspects that are established during the university phase and the respective consequences for this public. Thus, the objective of the present research project was to describe the findings in the literature about alcohol consumption among medical students in Brazil. The study was a literature review, carried out for two months in 2022, in the PubMed and Virtual Health Library databases, in English and Portuguese. Analyzing in the literature the theme about alcohol consumption in medical students in Brazil allowed us to describe the questions about the existing factors intrinsic to the medical course, comprising factors interconnected to the course that may enhance or possibly develop changes that are consistent with the growing number of registered cases. consumption, thus allowing to associate variables used in the literature that can elucidate and generate reflections directing attention to such a condition of great importance for public health.
