Resumo: The purpose of this monograph is to analyze and document the rock records of Dom Helder ranch at Mundo Novo farm, taking into account the bibliographical sources, then performing recognition site in the field, and developing works of tracing and reducing in order to carry out a qualitative typological survey and conservation status of the pieces at Dom Helder ranch, in Canindé de São Francisco town. It is kind of important o have a special look meanwhile conducting the research in such order to allow the identification of the characteristics of the rock records in the panel. It is noteworthy emphasize that other art rock sites have been studied lately. These studies may show that there are still areas in the region with great archaeological potential for the study of rock art, and may eventually increase the quantitative documental records of the Canindé de São Francisco surroundings.

Tomou-se como ponto de partida as fontes bibliográficas. Em seguida, realizou o reconhecimento do sítio em campo, e elaborou os trabalhos de calque, redução e análise das figuras, bem como a realização de um levantamento tipológico, quantitativo. Também foi observado e descrito neste trabalho o estado de conservação das figuras do sítio Dom Hélder. Vale ressaltar que vem sendo estudados outros sítios de Arte rupestre no complexo da fazenda Mundo Novo.
