Information technology (IT) is increasingly present in organizational environments, regardless of the size of the company. In order to promote greater assertiveness decisions, information technology has been used by executives as an essential tool to achieve this goal. Therefore, the present study aimed to understand how information technology assists in the decision of executives of small companies in the telecommunications sector and technological solutions of Sergipe. To carry out the study, a bibliographical research was held to support the specific objectives included in evidencing the organizational impacts that the implantation of information technology promotes in small companies, to identify the information systems that are used to support the decisions of executives in small businesses and understand the key benefits and other benefits generated by the use of information technology in small business decision making. The research is descriptive and qualitative. The research strategy was the multiple cases study. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted with three executives of two small companies. In order to analyze the data, a content analysis was held. The main findings revealed that the organizational impacts were basically related to the adaptation of the users to the systems and the ease in the interaction between the employees of the company, the distinguishing the systems used by companies, but with full attention to the need of executives. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that information technology is being increasingly disseminated in organizations, bringing to executives a new way of safely establishing decision making.
