Pixações de cunho feminista em Aracaju: uma paisagem alternativa

We present the results of an ongoing research, in the Masters in Popular Cultures at UFS, on feminist pixações in Aracaju, a term written with an "x", as used by the medium. From considerations of how pixação has been used in its expressions of "discursive fields of action" (ALVAREZ, 2003) and the concepts of dominant landscape and alternative landscapes within the scope of New Cultural Geography (COSGROVE, 1998). The guiding questions are: How is the alternative landscape being built from the graffiti in Aracaju? To what extent can we consider the presence of pixações as alternative landscapes? The methodological approach consists of three stages: literature review; photographic mapping of pixações Aracaju and categorization and study of photographic records related to the guiding questions. From the pixações mapped in 2019 and 2020, we chose nine of them. We consider, despite the criminalization of the act of pixar, the subversive character of pixadoras who insist on building a space for dialogue based on interference in the city's landscape, which is often determined by the dominant culture. And, furthermore, that feminist graffiti affects the dominant landscape and configures itself as an alternative excluded landscape, as it is carried out by socially subjugated groups.
