This work of completion of course has as central theme the representation of information and knowledge from subareas of Information Science, with a focus on Librarianship and Museology. It has the following starting question: is there a representation of information and standardized knowledge common to Library Science and Museology? It has as general objective to identify the possibility of a representation of information and knowledge from subareas of Information Science, with a focus on Librarianship and Museology. And as specific objectives identify the existence of concepts and historical contributions that can support the analysis of contexts; identify the elements of representation in the two areas; analyze the historical concepts and contributions identified; analyze the technical treatment of the two areas. Part of the difficulty of representing the information contexts between Librarianship and Museology, subareas of Information Science, with regard to a homogeneous dialogue, especially in the fields of documentation. This is a documentary and bibliographical research. In general, it is stated at the moment, that the general objective was reached, since the possibility of a representation of information, with a focus on Librarianship and Museology, is identified in an incipient way in the case of the work, reference was made to the systems of representation of Museu de Artes de São Paulo and Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia.
