Resumo: The Santo Amaro Revolt is a topic of great state and national historical value. The revolt was researched by some Sergipe historians and memoirists. This course conclusion work has as main objective to analyze two texts from Maria Thétis Nunes which talk about the Santo Amaro Revolt, namely: The Santo Amaro das Brotas Insurrection – antecedents, published by the Journal of the Historical and Geographic Institute of Sergipe No. 31 in 1992 and part of the book Provincial Sergipe I (1820 – 1840), published in 2000. Whose primary pretext is to examine the foundations of historiographical orientation, from the positions adopted by historian Thétis.
