Resumo: The Santo Amaro Insurrection was an important landmark for the political process of the provincial and of great historical value for the region, having national repercussions at the time, although little worked by our historians. The present article analyzes how Sergipe historiography describes this historical event that occurred in late 1836 and early 1837.Using as a methodology the bibliographical research based on readings of the written texts about the theme in the works of the three selected authors, trying to show the importance of the valorization of the historiography of the event in evidence, valuing and prioritizing the historiographic studies
