The beginning of the 20th century and marked by significant modernizing processes throughout the country. In addition to an urban structural reorganization, there is a cultural and social transformation as a basis for the emergence of formerly neglected partners, such as the women who become targets of the industrializing market. Therefore the present work seeks to perceive the feminine universe through some of the ads, advertisements and social notes directed to this public that circulated in Aracaju in the copies of the Jornal Correio de Aracaju in the years 1906 to 1930, periods of Belle Époque in Brazil. With the purpose of perceiving "What is the image of the Aracaju woman made by the Correio de Aracaju newspaper in the beginning of the 20th century". For this, I identify in the researched objects, which sectors products and services the newspaper makes available to this public, the approach used, which woman is directed and their social class. I use as a theoretical foundation some reflections on gender, use of the newspaper as a historical source, the contextualization of Aracaju since its foundation, the press institution linked to industrializing modernization as a vehicle that promotes social aspirations and the Jornal Correio de Aracaju, which absorbs this new time in its Commercial and service sectors merging the feminine image between modern and conservative, understanding them as willing to consume the products they circulate in these new times, not taking into account the political and social conservatism that it has as its main characteristic.
