Resumo: One of the most complex environmental problems to be faced today is the air pollution and automotive vehicles are one of the main sources of pollution of the air in urban areas. Aracaju-SE faces frequent congestion in traffic at peak times and does not have a monitoring network of air quality that subsidizes a diagnosis and control of pollution, so mathematical models that estimate the concentration of pollutants are useful tools for impact assessment receptors.This work consisted of an evaluation of vehicular pollution at Av. Pres. Tancredo Neves in Aracaju-SE through simulations with AERMOD View software, which uses the Gaussian model of atmospheric dispersion AERMOD recommended by the EPA. The modeling was performed for the two Avenue traffic routes, considered as urban linear sources. The rate of emission source was calculated from emission factors, average speed and the number of vehicles accounted for footage circulating on the promenade at peak times. From weather, topographic and sources of emission data yielded distributions of concentrations of total suspended particles, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides on the mesh receptors. The dispersion maps showed that the pollutants were concentrated around the sources, due to launch at ground level, the estimated PTS concentrations were within the primary and secondary standards of CONAMA Resolution No. 03/90. The CO concentration values exceeded the standards with maximum peak concentration of 53.199 μg/m3 (average 1 h) and 27.560 μg/m3 (average 8 h) due to the high rate of emission sources. NO2 concentrations also exceeded the primary and secondary standards for hourly averages, attributed to the contribution of heavy vehicles and the emission rates of light vehicles and motorcycles. It has been proven to greater exposure to higher levels of pollution of receptors on the banks of the avenue. It was recommended air quality management measures and further studies of the vehicle source and its effects on health. The simulations showed that the meteorological and topographical conditions of the city of Aracaju favor the atmospheric dispersion of pollutants, that vehicles significantly affect air quality in the region and that the mathematical modeling is a useful tool for the study of atmospheric dispersion.

Aracaju-SE enfrenta frequentes congestionamentos no trânsito em horários de pico e não possui uma rede de monitoramento da qualidade do ar que subsidie um diagnóstico e controle da poluição, logo, modelos matemáticos que estimam a concentração de poluentes são ferramentas úteis para a avaliação de impacto em receptores. Este trabalho consistiu numa avaliação da poluição veicular na Av. Pres. Tancredo Neves em Aracaju-SE por meio de simulações realizadas com o software AERMOD View, que utiliza o modelo gaussiano de dispersão atmosférica AERMOD, recomendado pela EPA. As modelagens foram realizadas para as duas vias de tráfego da avenida, consideradas como fontes lineares urbanas. A taxa de emissão da fonte foi calculada a partir de fatores de emissão, da velocidade média e do número de veículos contabilizados por filmagem que circulam na avenida em horários de pico. A partir de dados meteorológicos, topográficos e das fontes de emissão, obtiveram-se distribuições de concentrações de partículas totais suspensas, monóxido de carbono e óxidos de nitrogênio sobre a malha de receptores. Os mapas de dispersão obtidos mostraram que os poluentes concentraram-se em torno das fontes, devido ao lançamento a nível do solo, que as concentrações de PTS estimadas estavam dentro dos padrões primário e secundário da Resolução CONAMA Nº 03/90. Os valores de concentração de CO ultrapassaram os padrões com picos máximos de concentração de 53.199 μg/m3 (média de 1h) e 27.560 μg/m3 (média de 8h), devido à alta taxa de emissão das fontes. As concentrações de NO2 também ultrapassaram os padrões primários e secundários para a média horária, atribuído à contribuição dos veículos pesados e das taxas de emissão dos veículos leves e motocicletas. Foi comprovada a maior exposição a níveis mais elevados de poluição dos receptores às margens da avenida. Recomendaram-se medidas de gestão da qualidade do ar e realização de mais estudos da fonte veicular e seus efeitos sobre a saúde da população.
