Resumo: The present research has as its theme the production of a relevant knowledge through the teaching of the history of Sergipe in the city of Aracaju and as object of research: the lack of teachers on the teaching of the history of Sergipe, through an interview with teachers and students of municipal, state and private institutions; the present article will have as theoretical reference the book of Edgar Morin; and aims to address the way that the teaching of local history is worked out; the following steps are observed: 1. Discuss with teachers about the subject; 2. Search institutions that work local history; 3. Interview teachers and students; 4. Analyze the educational curricular guidelines and the curricular referential of the State of Sergipe; 5. Produce the result obtained. When researching the production of Sergipe's history, one can find works that were written not only by historians but also by journalists, geographers and other authors who create and recreate diverse memories about monuments, municipalities, streets, works of art and painters regional authorities. The expression pertinence in its general way leads to inquire: how does Sergipe's history teaching in the city of Aracaju contribute to the production of pertinent knowledge?

Através de entrevista com professores e com alunos das instituições, públicas municipais, estaduais e privadas; o presente artigo terá como referencial teórico o livro de Edgar Morin; e tem como objetivo abordar a forma como é trabalhado o ensino da história local.Diante dos objetivos exposto observam-se as seguintes etapas 1. Debater com professores sobre o tema; 2. Pesquisar instituições que trabalhem história local; 3. Entrevistar professores e alunos; 4. Analisar as diretrizes curricular educacional e a referencial curricular do Estado de Sergipe; 5. Produzir o resultado obtido. Ao pesquisar a produção sobre a história de Sergipe, pode-se encontrar obras que foram escritas não somente por historiadores, mas também por jornalistas, geógrafos entre outros autores que criam e recriam diversas memórias sobre monumentos, municípios, ruas, obras de artese pintores regionais.
