Os impactos da dor na funcionalidade em indivíduos com doença de Parkinson

Introduction: Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by a reduction of dopaminergic neurons. The clinical presentations range from motor symptoms such as altered posture, slow movements, and tremors, to non-motor symptoms such as cognitive deficit, apathy and sleep dysregulation. Objective: the main purpose of this study is to correlate pain with functionality in individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Methodologe: This is a descriptive study, with a cross-sectional design, carried out with individuals with individuals clinically diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the city of Lagarto/SE. A priori, the Mini Mental State Examination was used to analyze how preserved the cognitive capacity of the participants would be to answer the other questionnaires that associated pain with King's PD Pain Questionnaire and The Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale. Results: Six individuals were evaluated, four men and two women, of these only one presented presumed cognitive decline. The nocturnal pain and intermittent pain were the domains that presented the highest average in pain assessment, functionality presented greater changes in motor symptoms and motor assessment. Four patients were classified as level 4 in the Hoeh and Yahr staging and two participants as level 2. Conclusion: The investigation of pain in PD and its correlation with functionality depends on the health status of the patient of the time of application of the questionnaires and his collaboration in the answers, however, even with such influencial factors the research showed that there was no correlation between the variables.
