Tecendo saberes sobre plantas medicinais : um diálogo com a educação popular em saúde

Resumo: | Popular education emerged in the 1960s as a new form of adult literacy. The question was formulated in practical relations and brought with it ideas of self-knowledge as possible to overcome vertical relations, aiming at transforming the subject into a political agent and active participant in the transformation of the world. Popular education also has as one of its marks accompanying the class movements and groups of society who understand that their place in history is not appropriate for the levels of dignity to which they would have the right. In the field of health, a popular health education can be described as a process of formation and empowerment that occurs within a class political perspective, which is part of or links to the organized action of the people to build a new society according to their Interests, to intensify popular participation by radicalizing a democratic perspective on public health policies. University extension is a form of interaction that must exist between a university and a community in which it is inserted, a kind of permanent bridge in a university and the various sectors of society. The purpose of the Tecendo Saberes project was to disseminate the population's knowledge about medicinal plants and, through the exchange of sabers, contribute to the long-term implementation of phytotherapy in the single health system. As initial actions of the project were focused on training on medicinal plants, cultivation, live pharmacy, on an extension and its role in the community. The methodology used followed a workshop logic, conversation wheels and a semi-structured questionnaire application. Thus, it was possible to make a delineation between the profile of the use of medicinal plants and a perception of the users of the Basic Health Units on the plants. Tecendo Saberes also expanded popular knowledge about medicinal plants among users, health professionals such as Community Health Agents and students. |

A mesma foi formulada em relações práticas e trouxe consigo ideias do próprio conhecimento como possibilidade de superar relações verticais, visando transformar o sujeito em um agente político e participante ativo na transformação do mundo. A educação popular tem ainda como uma de suas marcas acompanhar os movimentos de classe e grupos da sociedade os quais entendem que seu lugar na história não corresponde aos níveis de dignidade a que teriam direito. No campo da saúde, a educação popular em saúde pode ser descrita como um processo de formação e capacitação que ocorre dentro de uma perspectiva política de classe, que toma parte ou se vincula à ação organizada do povo para construir uma sociedade nova de acordo com seus interesses, que intensifique a participação popular radicalizando a perspectiva democratizante das políticas públicas em saúde. A extensão universitária é uma forma de interação que deve existir entre a universidade e a comunidade na qual ela está inserida, uma espécie de ponte permanente entre a universidade e os diversos setores da sociedade. O projeto Tecendo Saberes teve como objetivo difundir o conhecimento da população sobre as plantas medicinais e, por meio da troca de saberes, contribuir a médio e longo prazo para a implementação da fitoterapia no sistema único de saúde. As ações iniciais do projeto foram centradas na capacitação sobre plantas medicinais, cultivo, farmácia viva, sobre a extensão e o seu papel na comunidade. A metodologia empregada seguiu a lógica de oficinas, rodas de conversas e a aplicação de um questionário semiestruturado. Assim, foi possível fazer um delineamento entre o perfil de uso de plantas medicinais e a percepção dos usuários das Unidades Básicas de Saúde sobre as plantas.
