Resumo: Field classes are an essential part in Ecology teaching, contributing both to increasing students learning as well as to improving their environmental awareness. This study aims to analyze the use of field classes in natural environments of the State of Sergipe, in undergraduate courses at the Universidade Federal de Sergipe, in the classroom and distance learning modalities. Questionnaires were administered to students who attended courses related to the field of Ecology. Students cited the ecosystems and conservation units visited and the activities undertaken. They also mentioned difficulties found, such as lack of transportation, material, time availability, and even of teacher’s interest, as factors responsible for the field classes below their expectations. More investment in human and material resources are needed to overcome the difficulties found out, in order to field classes become an essential and integrated part of Ecology teaching.

Este trabalho objetiva analisar a utilização de aulas de campo em ambientes naturais do Estado de Sergipe, em cursos da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, nas modalidades presencial e à distância. Foram aplicados questionários a alunos de graduação que cursaram disciplinas relacionadas à área de Ecologia. Os alunos citaram os ecossistemas e as Unidades de Conservação visitadas e as atividades desenvolvidas. Apresentaram ainda dificuldades, como falta de transporte, material, horário compatível, e mesmo de interesse do professor, como fatores responsáveis pelo número de aulas práticas aquém do esperado por eles.
