Resumo: This dissertation analyzes the cultural heritage surveys regarding to religious temples from Laranjeiras (Sergipe/Brazil). Since its was institutionalized (1937), Brazilian cultural heritage politics is characterized by diverse social groups which use their symbolic power to select what should be officially considered cultural heritage, in a way to legitimate their cultural goods - specifically those related to religions. In Laranjeiras, the cultural goods surveys fit into that profile: among the nine cultural heritage surveys, four are historic catholic churches, while two of them are Afro-Brazilian religious temples, also known as terreiros . The critical issue of this dissertation is how those six specific cultural heritage surveys were carried out. Such surveys are analyzed according to two purposes: the first aim is to describe the cultural heritage surveys. The second purpose is to analyze the rules created and followed, as well as the social agents authorized to create and follow them, in a way to legitimate their social groups and symbolic capital. To do so, my theoretical framework is Pierre Bourdieu´s keyconcepts, such as field, capital and symbolic power (BOURDIEU, 2001; 2002; 2013), I conclude that historic catholic churches are still privileged in Brazilian cultural heritage politics field, specially because of the relations between State and Religion in Brazil, which reflects the hegemony of the Catholic Church. Thus, there is only one Afro-Brazilian temple officially protected, called Terreiro Filhos de Obá protected by the state of Sergipe. Its national survey is still pending in IPHAN bureaucratic machine since the 1990´s.

Its national survey is still pending in IPHAN bureaucratic machine since the 1990´s.A dissertação intitulada Tombamentos de templos religiosos em Laranjeiras/Sergipe analisa os processos de tombamento de templos religiosos realizados no município sergipano de Laranjeiras entre 1943 e a atualidade. Desde sua instituição em 1937, a política de tombamento no Brasil é marcada pela constituição de um campo no qual os grupos sociais disputam o poder simbólico de eleger o que deve ser patrimônio cultural e assim legitimar seus bens culturais, especialmente aqueles relacionados às religiosidades. Em Laranjeiras, os processos com esse perfil são maioria. Dos nove abertos na localidade, quatro são referentes a igrejas católicas e dois a terreiros afrobrasileiros. Como foram realizados esses acautelamentos é a questão central aqui levantada. A partir dos conceitos de campo, capital e poder simbólico de Pierre Bourdieu (2001; 2002; 2013), os seis processos de tombamentos, a saber, o acautelamento estadual e federal dos bens Terreiro Filhos de Obá, Igreja Matriz do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Capela de Santo Antônio do Engenho Retiro, Capela de Nossa Senhora de Conceição da Comandaroba e Capela do Engenho Jesus, Maria e José, são abordados em dois momentos: inicialmente são descritos os procedimentos e os mecanismos oficiais adotados e, em um segundo momento, por meio da utilização da análise do discurso como procedimento metodológico, são identificadas quais as regras adotadas para os reconhecimentos, quais os agentes sociais autorizados a legitimar e quais os grupos sociais e dos capitais simbólicos legitimados. Demonstra-se, por fim, a manutenção de um status de privilégio que a Igreja Católica possui nesse campo, especificamente na relação entre Estado e Religião, com a hegemonia na preservação de templos religiosos voltados ao culto católico. Nesse sentido, há apenas um bem relativo à matriz religiosa afrobrasileira, o Terreiro Filhos de Obá, tombado em nível estadual.
