A trajetória dos egressos dos cursos de bacharelado em Estatística e Ciências Atuariais da Universidade Federal de Sergipe para inserção no mercado

The increase in people having access to universities, the diverse changes in society, technological advances and globalization have made the job market demand more qualified professionals. Universities, whose role is to prepare professionals for the exercise of their profession, face a challenge to satisfy the demands of the labor market. The monitoring of graduates is an important tool, not only to verify their performance before society in relation to their academic training, but to create a lasting relationship between the student and the university. Thus, this research aims to verify the trajectory of the graduates of the Bachelor of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences courses at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS). Seeking to verify variables such as motivation for choosing the course and challenges during the academic period, in addition to studying the insertion in the job market, analyzing their financial satisfaction, courses and training carried out after graduation. A survey was conducted through a questionnaire sent by e-mail to the graduates of the two courses between 2006 and 2019, the data were collected between December 2019 and January 2020, obtaining a sample of 80 respondents, where 60 respondents are from the Statistics graduation and 20 from the Actuarial Science graduation. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data, using tables and graphs, and the chi-square test was applied. The results obtained show that the majority of graduates are aged between 21 and 30 years old, the taste for the exact field was the main motivation in choosing the course, during the period of graduation most performed some type of work while studying and pointed out the lack of practical activities as a challenge, most of them being satisfied with the choice of the course. After graduation, they sought complementary courses in the academic area and preparation for public examinations. Most of the graduates live in the state of Sergipe, do not work in the area and consider themselves financially satisfied.
