Resumo: With the need to rethink economic development from a new perspective, considering the fundamental determinants of economic growth sustainable development has to be treated as a fundamental strategy for the growth of countries. The INPI then instituted the program of green patents provides specific procedures to make it speed up the examination and grant of patent applications related to environmentally friendly technologies. In this sense the present study aimed to analyze the strategies of the pilot program through quantitative analysis of data on the applications of green patents. It was observed that despite the priority examination requests for green patents still bear a great time of processing between 478 and 506 days in the INPI showing that some changes should be made if analyzed the term grant of patents in relation to the expiration date technology.

O INPI instituiu então o programa de patentes verdes o qual prevê procedimentos específicos objetivando tornar mais ágil o exame e a concessão de pedidos de patentes relacionados a tecnologias sustentáveis. Neste sentido o presente estudo objetivou analisar as estratégias do programa piloto através de análises quantitativas dos dados referentes aos pedidos de patentes verdes.
