Análise da taxa de mortalidade por câncer de laringe no estado de Sergipe no período de 1996 a 2015

OBJECTIVES: To analyze the frequency and epidemiology of mortality and Larynx cancer in Sergipe from 1996 to 2015. METHODS: Cases of death from laryngeal cancer from January 1996 to December 2015 were recorded in the Mortality Information System (SIM). Time trends were calculated using the Joinpoint Regression Point. To extract data from Datasus, the R Core Team program was used. RESULTS: A total of 442 records were analyzed. Patients had a mean age of 63 years. 87% of deaths occurred in males and 13% in females. Nevertheless, the Annual Percentage Increase (APC) of adjusted mortality in women was 7,1% and in men 4,7%. CONCLUSION: There were 442 deaths from laryngeal câncer, with a mean age of 63 years. There was a predominance of males, whereas the increase in APC mortality was higher in females.
