Resumo: The sardines are species fished in all Brazilian coast that represents one of the most important fish species for fisheries in Brazil, including Sergipe state. Within this context, the aim of this study was to analyze the fishery sardines production from Sergipe coast, between the years 2004 and 2013, also its correlation with rainfall for the years 2010 and 2013. The fishery production and the rainfall data were obtained from the official records. Polynomial regression was performed in order to analyze the correlation between the fishery production data and rainfall precipitation data. The average production of sardines in the last decade was 161t and the last four years ranged from 59.8t (2012) to 171.2t (2011), while rainfall ranged from 79.7 mm (2012) to 146.4 mm (2010), marked by distinct periods of high and low frequency of rainfall. The monthly analysis of production in the four years shows that there is a pattern of reverse seasonality related to precipitation phenomena, that is, fish production is higher in low rainfall period. Nevertheless, it is necessary to carry out studies to establish the other variables that influence the variation of the production of sardines.

Neste contexto, o presente trabalho objetivou analisar a produção de sardinhas no litoral sergipano, entre os anos de 2004 e 2013, bem como sua correlação com a pluviosidade entre os anos de 2010 e 2013. Os dados de produção da sardinha e de pluviosidade foram obtidos nos registros oficiais. Para avaliar a influência da pluviosidade na produção de sardinha, utilizou-se uma regressão polinomial. A produção média de sardinhas na ultima década foi de 161t e nos últimos quatro anos variou de 59.8t (2012) a 171.2t (2011), enquanto a pluviosidade variou de 79.7 mm (2012) a 146.4 mm (2010), marcada por períodos distintos de alta e baixa frequência de chuvas. A análise mensal da produção nos quatro anos evidência a existência de um padrão de sazonalidade inverso aos fenômenos de precipitação, ou seja, a produção pesqueira é maior no período de baixa pluviosidade.
