Resumo: | In Brazil, the Ministry of Environment estimates that about 10% of sewage is treated before being thrown into the River. Aracaju in Sergipe state capital of 50% of the city's sewers are treated before being released in the receiving body and the sludge of ETE's in this town is used as fertilizer (DESO, 2009). Sewage sludge is a byproduct of wastewater treatment of sewage treatment plants (ETE). After their use in industrial or domestic centers in its final disposition is more promising as a fertilizer used in agriculture to be a waste of organic matter and its treatment is done to reduce the pathogens and to reduce pollution of water resources. This study aims to characterize the sludge from ETE's in the city of Aracaju-SE. Sudge samples were collected from two sewage treatment plants respectively ETE Orlando Dantas and Industrial District Aracaju D.I.A. For the analysis of samples were aliquots of fresh sludge and caleados of ETE's that after the drying process in a forced air at 65 ° C until constant weight and going through the process of cleaning to determine the following parameters: pH, humidity and concentrations of macronutrient cations (Na, NH4 +, K, Mg), anions (F, Cl, NO3 -, SO4 2-, PO4 3-) and heavy metals (Cu, Mn, Zn, Fe, Al, Ni, Cr, Pb and Cd). The pH of limed sludge from the ETE Orlando Dantas has increased due to addition of lime to act as a corrective of the acidity and to brush it. Large concentrations of macronutrients of the ions, because the sludge (LE) being the source of domestic sewage. Sewage sludge from ETE's city Aracaju-SE and from domestic sewage. The amount of pathogens in sludge depends on its origin, the time of year and the process of treatment to which was referred to the mud. And one of the forms of final disposition is in agriculture, provides nutrients used as fertilizer for having large amounts of organic matter and its application leads to increased agricultural productivity. So was the sample characteristics of the two ETE's determining heavy metals and ions in different times of the year respectively by applying the techniques of atomic absorption and ion chromatography getting the results within the range permitted by law, the sludge may be a Alternatively apply it as fertilizer to reduce the environmental impacts in the receiving body. |
