Uso de plantas medicinais na gravidez : uma revisão integrativa

Resumo: | Medicinal plants are considered safe and effective by the population due to the idea that it is natural and does not harm, which can cause damage to health by having toxic principles. The biggest users of medicinal herbs are women, due to tradition, among them, the pregnant women, who make use of most of the time, to relieve the symptoms in pregnancy. But during this time the use of any substance can cause harm to the mother and the fetus. Therefore, knowledge of medicinal plants for pregnant women needs to be further developed to ensure effective treatment and risk assessment. Searches were conducted in the following databases: Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs and ScienceDirect. Adopting as inclusion criterion: original articles, articles in the Portuguese, English and Spanish languages and articles studies with pregnant women, midwives and professionals related to the gestational period. E As an exclusion criterion: articles that did not provide the summary on the basis of indexation, animal studies, studies that did not include pregnant women. After 2227 pre-selected articles, 61 articles were analyzed to serve as a basis for the study of the most recurrent pathologies and medicinal plants in the gestational period. After analysis, symptoms related to pregnancy and different pathologies were cited and innumerable medicinal plants for the treatment of these. The most cited plant was Zingiber officinale, used by pregnant women to treat hyperemesis gravidarum, with several studies proving efficacy, and proving to be safe in pregnancy. The knowledge about medicinal plants is very widespread in the population, but those used in pregnancy have few experimental studies. Needing more studies in the area, taking into account effectiveness and safety of mother and baby. |

Os maiores usuários de ervas medicinais são as mulheres, devido à tradição, entre elas, as grávidas, que fazem uso na maioria das vezes, para alívio dos sintomas na gravidez. Porém durante esse período o uso de qualquer substância pode gerar dano para a mãe e para o feto. Por isso, o conhecimento de plantas medicinais para mulheres grávidas precisa ser mais aprofundado para garantir tratamento efetivo e avaliação dos riscos. Foram realizadas buscas nas seguintes bases de dados: Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs e ScienceDirect. Adotando-se como critério de inclusão: artigos originais, artigos nas línguas portuguesa, inglesa e espanhola e artigos estudos com gestantes, parteiras e profissionais ligados ao período gestacional. E Como critério de exclusão: artigos que não disponibilizavam o resumo na base de indexação, estudos feitos com animais, estudos que não incluíam mulheres grávidas. Após 2227 artigos pré-selecionados, para discussão do artigo, 61 artigos foram analisados servindo de base para fazer o levantamento das patologias e as plantas medicinais mais recorrentes no período gestacional. Após análise, sintomatologias ligadas à gravidez e patologias diferentes foram citadas e inúmeras plantas medicinais para o tratamento destas. A planta mais citada foi o Zingiber officinale, utilizado pelas gestantes para tratar hiperemese gravídica, com vários estudos comprovando a eficácia, e demonstrando ser seguro na gravidez. O conhecimento sobre plantas medicinais é muito difundido na população, porém as utilizadas na gravidez têm poucos estudos experimentais.
