Resumo: The present work sought to present, discuss, compare and analyze the work O Quinze, by Rachel de Queiroz, published in 1930, and the homonymous film directed by Jurandir de Oliveira, which is an adaptation of this novel. The analysis established relationships between the similarities and differences existing in the process of adapting literary writing to the cinematographic world, taking into account aspects such as fidelity and transposition of spaces and characters. As a theoretical and critical basis, works by Alvaro Luiz Hattnher (2010 and 2013) and Robert Stam (2006) were used. Finally, we sought to formulate a critical analysis aiming not only at the similarities/differences of the analyzed works, but at the value of the elements contained in them.
