Resumo: The present study aims to analyze the main expatiated clashes by researchers about the New Christians. For this, we use as the main text interview with the newspaper Diário de Lisboa by historian Israel Salvador Révah, conducted by journalist Abilio Silva Dinis, which had as its theme the work Inquisition and New Christians of José Antonio Saraiva. From the interview and replies and rejoinders to which those involved had the right, as well as, considering the essential studies about the subjectit is possible point out and discuss what are the major existing deadlocks in the historiography of the New Christians.
